New grain structure (pyramid shape) allows a very high material removal (e. g. grinding out of scratches and welding points etc.) and a very fine grinding surface pattern at the same time. 

A lot of worksteps can be saved. Ideal to remove scratches and pre-polishing a later mirror finish.
